i want to take my 2 dual subs out of the bandpass box they came in. they are 12" subs and are going in a 1996 ford taurus gl sedan in the trunk. i want this box to take up barely any room, but to stretch from side of the trunk to the other side. if anyone could help me with what to use, as well as where to get it, it would be appreciated. thx! (also very low budget! thx)

basic particle board and black felt carpet is all you need. but I would check a web site or get a book on how to build a sub box. for it is not just a box to hold them, but is a certain cubic inch of air space for that sub. to not have this cubic air space right, will either make the subs not punch or be a weak punch, in turn losing out on the experience.Need a wiring diagram for 2 ohm output for solor baric 10" L5?
if doing this, all the math and geometry is too much for you, you can always find a small local stereo shop and most will build you a custom box to fit what you need to the specs you need. just box alone, construction, material, I would guess like $150.
3/4" MDF (medium density fiber board) will be your best friend for a project like this. You can pick it up at your local home depot, lowes, or any hardware store that carries lumber and such. Also pick up some cheap caulk to seal the corners and edges.

Making the box is fairly simple and only requires a bit of practice. Like the pros say: "Measure twice, cut once."
Get out a tape measure and go to town. It's best to have a good idea of what you want the final product to look like (sketches can be very useful).

MDF is usually pretty cheap, caulk as well. In most cases the builder will wind up spending more money on tools than they do on materials. So if quality tools aren't readily available try borrowing some from grandpa or uncle carpenter.
