Can i hook up a amp to my stock 01 mustang head unit?

Extremely easy. Go to bestbuy, walmart, autozone or any other place that sells car stereos. Get an installation kit: Adapter for an aftermarket stereo install. Face plate which is included in the kit. When you realize how easy this is you will laugh. As a precaution I would unhook your battery or just take out your stereo fuse before hooking up the stereo.
