I have decided on the tc 3000 for a subwoofer what would be a good mono amp to push that subwoofer?
Ported, definitely. a speaker is a diaphragm that moves the AIR Volume that surrounds it to produce sound waves. You must have a movement of air to produce sound, so why would you choke your speaker of air?there are many theories for enclosures. I happen to like the bandpass method. a rectangular box with the speakers inside facing each other at a 45 degree angle, and the rear of each speaker is ported by a 3"x 3" tube. Different enclosures produce different sounds...it's up to you.
Hello! I am going to hotwire my Lincoln cont 1970 car.Battrey to coil.?
aright i put alot of work into this. ported will give you alot more output and deeper frequency response but the sealed will have the most sound quality. here are some pics i drew up on ms paint so you can see exactly what im talking about. i looked this sub up on car domain and other websites and porting it is not reccomended, but ive heard this and still can be done. What is sensitivity on a subwoofer?
here is the ported...

Do I need a new car stereo or just have it repaired?
ported or sealed? - depends on what your looking for. sealed inclosures are more accurate bass, and if powered correctly are extreamly "tight" ported will make your but go numb from bass, more output per watt, but at the cost of beeing a bit more boomy. the sealed enclosure will definately be smaller.as far as dimensions. i would find out what pioneer recommends every speaker is a bit different, and they should know the best size ect. when makking the box use 3/4" MDF not plywood. it will sound much better, i could explain why but that is a hole nuther subject.
