Question:
I bought an amp wiring kit and I am trying to wire my amp to my head unit. Everything is properly connected but I am iffy about the remote wiring. the wiring kit came with a blue wire and gray wire for this...and the head unit has a single blue cord coming out of it for the system remote wiring. I read the instructions and it shows that the gray wire is supposed to lead from the head unit to a ground. The blue is supposed to connect from the head unit to the amp. I did this and it is still not working. Suggestions would be very helpful. Also, when I tap the AV cords to their sockets, I can hear definite staticy feedback, but I plug them in and I get nothing. Help!!

If all else fails, run a fused (1 amp) wire from the ACC in the ignition (fuse box) to a switch then from the switch to the REM connection on the amp.Is Sony Xplod a good car audio product or not?
This allows for full control (for when grandma gets in your ride and she doesn't explode) and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn the amp off.
connect your amp remote wire to the red wire coming from the back of your deck and everytime you turn your car on your amp will turn on, the red wire is the remote wire for your deck and it always works.

The easiest way to find out if the remote wire is the problem is to put it on a constant power and see if the amp comes on if it comes on then you connected it to the radio wrong if it still doesnt maybe you dont have a good ground on the ampSony Xplod car stereo hook up..Is this good??

What amp and what deck are you using, also what vehicle?
So I assume that you have your Gray Grounded! Also, Your blue cable should be connected from the head unit to the amplifier for the power turn on lead. The only other wire that needs to be connected is the +12V cable (typically red) from the Battery to the Amplifier. Upon completion of these three wires, the unit should power off and on properly. I'm sure you know you need to connect you AV cords as well and then on to your speakers. Everything should work as new if all is checked like above..
Ok The back of the Radio has a Blue wire or in some cases it is blue with a white line. Splice that and run your blue wire to your amp's remote connector and you should be set !
