Okay so what do I do? My amplifier has shut down and I've been told it's my REMOTE wire. Should I replace it?

Question:
I DON'T HAVE A TEST LIGHT...BUT i DO HAVE A VOLT METER. Okay so now...how in the heck do I use the volt meter?

Answers:

Where do I connect the REM on an amp to a Kenwood Z828 (the stock stereo in a 04 F150 Heritage STX)?

Set the voltmeter to DC volts. Turn on the stereo (or whatever supplies power to the REM wire). Place the red lead from the meter to the REM connection on the amp. Place the black lead on the ground connection on the amp. The meter should read roughly 13 volts.

How do i bridge my sony amp?

If you don't read any voltage above 11 volts, the REM wire is bad or the supply from the head unit is bad.

What is a chassis ground for the radio wires?

Test the end of the remote wire that was going into the amp if your not gettin any power thru it then the amp wont come or you could just run a seperate wire to a constant power just to see if it comes on just dont leave it hooked up like that or amp wont go off
