Wiring car in dash dvd, not sure how to do it, display keeps blinking when lights turned on and dvds wont play

Question:
I got a valor in dash multimedia player and i tried wiring it myself to avoid huge installation costs. I have the harness and it turns on and everything and the radio and cd player works but everytime i turn the headlights on the screen blinks, sometimes when i turn the car on the unit will turn on but the screen won't and i can't figure out how to make it play dvds at all, parked or driving (i know that parking is the right way to do it, but still can't even figure that out) PLEASE HELP! step by step directions would be great, thanks!

20 - 30mm thick mounting plates/brackets to fit 6" x 9" car speakers?

sounds like you may have hooked a power wire for the DVD player up to the old light wire from your old radio, that comes on with the car lights. did you use the old wiring from the old radio? the easiest way to wire them up is to see if you can find an adapter for your car that will let you install an after market radio (usually around 10-15 bucks), or in your case, a DVD player (same adapter should work for either one) they come with a wiring diagram. it plugs into the plug that you unplugged from your old radio. then it tells you which wires to hook up to which wires on your player. factory radios have a floating ground, so you need this adapter to make your speakers work properly.
