I don't plan hooking an amp up to them because I have subs but want 5.25" and 6 x 9 speakers that wont blow and sound good.

unlike any other poster, i'll give you some great brands that they dont sell at Best Buy, and Circut City. all of these brands will sound much better then anything you can buy at BB or CC.My cd player is hooked up and all the wires are connected the speakers dont work tohugh?

Quite honestly - it doesn't really matter what you get. If you aren't going to improve their power supply (i.e. amplifiers), you won't improve the sound (by much anyway). Just stick with your stock speakers until you have the money to buy a good front stage.Car audio that plays outside your Car?
Depending on your head unit, I would use the Alpine SPS-13C2 for your 5.25's. I would then recommend the Alpine SPS-69C3 for you 6x9's. Depending on your head units out put, that should have an incredible sound..you cant go wrong with anything from the apline type E range but they can be a bit expensive but worth it

I agree with the others here; Alpine or Pioneer, also Infinity makes good speakers for little$. If you are not using an amp keep the RMS rating of your speakers low, and the sensitivity high (90 db or better) to get the most out of your deck power; ie something rated for 25-45w RMS and 100w max will sound good, and cost under $100/pr. Be sure you listen to the speakers you are going to buy with a deck of about the same power as yours. If you buy $300 250w speakers and run them with no amp, you will be disappointed. And if you choose to amp the cheaper 45w speakers later on they will still take it and sound even better. High-end speakers are for use with high-end amps for people with high-end wallets.kicker. i have kicker ds 5.25. they are clear and loud. also alpine makes really nice speakers.

Rockford Fosgate manufactures a company called Lightning Audio (yes, really). They are sold at Wal-Mart for about $35 a pair. I had a friend w/ the 6x9's getting 100wrms each and it was loud AND clear.GREAT for the money.
