Subwoofer ? need help?

Question:
I have a pyle 1400 watt peak power speaker and i need to know if i build my own box would it sound the same? also i know 2 seal the box with silicone but how do i know how to make my air holes?

If you do a good job, you can get much better results building a box rather than buying one. I think you're refering to porting the enclosure.
