Does anybody know the brand of the radio in the link?
Well it all depends on whether or not you have the right harness, there is actually a few different harnesses for the 04 silverado, depending on whether or not it has the Bose system, whether or not it has onstar, etc. So first off, call Circuit City, BestBuy, or a local dealer and let them know exactly what your truck is equipped with so that they can let you know which harness to use. It is possible to use the normal harness with any of the above mention scenarious, but you will lose some features (i.e. door chime, warning chime, also check with your insurance company because some won't cover you if you do not have the correct harness in there because of the fact that you lose those warning chimes). Email me if you have any questions, hope this helps. Can I hook up a 2 channel amp too 1 sub??
The harness is an aftermarket adapter to plug into your factory wiring harness without cutting any wires. Metra makes all their harness colour coded to 99 percent of aftermarket cd players. Just match up the colours from the harness to the cd player. I would suggest you to get the cd player installer kit which includes all parts and hardware needed to make a clean install on your truck. Connect all wires using butt connectors which allow wires to go on either end and allows a crimping tool to crimp the wires.More Questions & Answers ...
