hi,static is usually cause by ignition interference,check to see if any of the wires are close to the sparkplug wires or any grounds that share with another component like the cars computor.allways keep ground wires at 1 foot or less in order to stop static.make sure all conections are tight and splices are done right(no bare wires twisted together and taped)if it is static only when the radio or cd player is on its internal but if it does it no matter what is playing its in the wiring
