will a 4.0L bolt up to a 2.5L transmission ina 84' XJ?

95 prelude pops out of 5th and into neutral?

I think the bell bousing might bolt up to it but I'm pretty sure that the starter is in the wrong position. Also the 2.5 tranny wont last very long behind the 4.0. Try to get your hands on an AX-15 from a YJ or another Cherokee.
