most cars will not let you. they sense keys in the ignition, and will not electrically lock at least the drivers door, until the key in ignition sensor tells it to. this to prevent people from locking the keys in the car. sorry, bub, you will have to lock it manually.How many foot pounds of torque is there on a wheel lug nut on an full size american car?

locked car...open only drivers door by key, start car, lock door by key, leave running, use same spare key to get back in.
