What will happen if i accidently overfilled the fluid on an automatic transmission on a 2001 suburban?

Question:
the transmission is slipping often and i was wondering if it could be from overfilling (by approx. two - three quarts)

Will Konig Unknown rims fit on a Mazda 3(or Mazdaspeed 3 to be more specific)?

If you overfilled the fluid that much you will ruin the trans...this will cause the fluid to aireate (kind of like whipping things in a blender) and have all these air bubbles and foam and therefore will not be able to create hydraulic pressure and cause slipping and overheating which will burn up the clutches in your automatic trans... Stop Driving it and get the level correct using Dexron III or IV..

Dodge Caliber or Volkswagen Rabbit. Why?

it will slip and possibly burn up from overfill or spring leaks. Should have the problem taken care of immediately and use a good transmission fluid conditioner if everything works out. Best of luck.

My 1986 chevy pickup has blue smoke coming out of just one exhaust pipe .The more gas i give it the heavier i

You could have blown the transmission seals, but you would have seen fluid on your driveway if that were the case. The transmission is probably going out. Get it to a reputable tranny shop and you might be able to save yourself a couple of thou.

Now i'm really confused. should i buy toyota cololla or hyundai accent?

overfilling will not harm the tranny. The excess oil will blow out through the dipstick fill tube and spray all over the engine compartment resulting in clouds of acrid smoke as it is burnt away by the heat of the engine.

I need to know the spark plug gap setting for a 2005 Ford Explorer with 4.6 L engine?

It is really hard on the transmission to overfill it by that much. The fluid will foam up and cause several different issues.
It can also overflow out of the tube while driving. This is a potential fire hazard!
A trans fluid fire is a bad deal. Very hard to put out.

2006 Toyota RAV 4?

2 or 3 quarts? WOW! thats alot of transmission fluid. was it slipping before you added the fluid? If it was then the fuild is not the problem. What will happen is you can cause some shifting problems if the fluid level is too high. automatics operate off of hydralic pressure. To much fluid can get in to passages that would normally not have fluid in them untell it moves to a different gear. you can also have leaks start in the front seals and rear seals as well as seaping form the pan gasket. I would take it to a shop and have them remove the extra fuild soon.

Which oil (Brand and weight) should be used in a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LT?

overfilling is not a good idea but it won,t cause it to slip...it will eject excess fluid through the dip stick tube...if left that way it could create enough pressure to blow a seal...it won,t foam up that much..transmission fluid has anti foam agent,s blend ed in......was your trans, slipping before you added excess fluid?....never the less...have your trans. serviced.[ change fluid & filter ]...if it still slips your going to need a rebuild....hope this help,s..good luck.

Sway bar inlink for a 2000 ford explorer?
