Question:
I currently have 235x75 R15 on there with the stock rims. Its not lifted or anything but I want more aggressive tires. I am getting 15x8 black rims. Whats a tire size that would fit thats a good size and wouldn't require any work without rubbing but at the same time will still have the aggressive offroad look. I have some tires in mind im just not sure what the maximum size I should look at since I don't wanna do any work to the jeep. I just wanna get new tires on these rims.
Answers:
The 31" tires above will also be a good size for your new wheels , and the 8' rim width will suit the 31" tires better. You should get the new wheels with a bit more offset than your standard wheels, (ie stick out from the body a bit more) and that way you should not have any clearance issues when turning.
Tires of the same size in different brands seem to be different in their diameters - so it might pay to compare the actual sizes of the tires you are interested in, and get the "smallest" 31" tire so that you have a bit more clearance under your guards.
I agree with you that aggressive tires are the way to go - they will produce a bit more noise than your standard tires, but that is all part of the fun!
I would pick up an inexpensive 2" lift kit and put on some 31x10.5 15's. It's a very easy lift kit to install and not too high to lose your practicality or handling at highway speeds. Really makes the xj stand out among the stocks.
Cargo capacity for a Toyota Rav 4?
That's about it if you don't want to rub, You could also get the 30" tire, which are about the same size. Goodyear MT/R, Cooper SST, BFG MT's will look really nice.More Questions & Answers ...
