Take it from a person who knows from experience and owns a dual turbo 2.7T A6 250hp and owned a (1.8T Passat 170-180HP vs. 200 on the 2.0T), and test drove a 200hp 2.8 A6.Can someone teach me how to reset the Toyota vios trip meter to zero?
The only ones that meet your qualifications are the TURBO engined models. All of these are 200 hp - GLI, 2.0T, and GTI which you can get in 2 or 4 door model.
About what is the length, bumper to bumper, of a full size, extended cab truck?
The reason is turbo engines have the aftermarket tuning chips that boost turbo power for as little as $500 without having to get your hands dirty in the engine, like you would have to with adding a $4,000 supercharger to a normally aspirated one *remove intake manifold, add pulley system which stresses other components*. I doubt they will ever even make a supercharger for the 2.5 since it's as anemic as popeyes girlfriend. And with that chip you will be making the same 100 or MORE horsepower from a smaller engine as the supercharger on the bigger engine. People had the same "future upgradeability" debate and problem with the Audi & VW 1.8Turbo vs the 2.8 v6. The 1.8T is the winner for upgrades. (Added to clarify for the answerer below) *And the VR6 that posters mentioned below does not even apply here, since that engine isn't offered and you are only interested in new models that come with a warranty, and you would have to add a turbo to that older engine, which isn't worth it. It should be noted too that the rear suspension has been improved & updated to fully independent multi link on the 2.0, 2.5, GLi, GTi compared to the stone age ox cart suspenion on Jettas / Golf of old.
The main reason there is such an aftermarket for the turbo is due to price. The smaller engines are cheaper, and are affordable to teenagers and young people (A4 - Golf) which is the popular majority of German cars on the road for the 20-30 age group. Whereas the more expensive V6 - V8 (A6 - S4 - S8 - Passat - R32) are rarer to see and are only affordable for older people who have no desire to modify. They bought it for luxury and high speed autobahn bruiser cruising power at 5,000+ rpm & 140mph (at speeds where a turbo would run out of power), not stop light racing. And there's not much you can do to a VW V6 or Audi V8, without expensive rare parts which kids are unable to afford due to limited demand, except for the 2.7T V6 which came with dual turbos from the factory. It's the KING for power modding.
1980 Chev truck right turn signal won't work when I step on the brake?
With a turbo the power is there when you need it, but when you don't you get 32+mpg from the 4 cylinder. With the 5 cyl 2.5 you are always wasting gas 30mpg using power that you don't need, and it also has less power at 150hp compared to the turbo with 200hp. If you plan on adding a bigger turbo, I'd get the manual transmission since the VW / Audi automatics of the past were unable to cope with monster loads of torque. I don't know if the new DSG automatics can handle it either. But with a manual you can also get racing clutches. With a chip it looks like you can get 250hp & 303lb of torque from a normal of 200hp/207tq. On the ECS engine link there is a K04 turbo upgrade that makes 298hp/321tq for $4,300. That's a hard amount of power for a front wheel drive car to put on the pavement though.
Which is better an Aston Martin or a Lamborghini??
The difference in price with the GLI and 2.0T is just the package options that come standard like heated seats and sunroof. The GLI and GTI also come with bi-xenon headlights [high & low beam xenon] which are better. Most people add that aftermarket to the 2.5 & 2.0T, but it's not the same without the autolevelers for the lights. If you buy any of them, don't be stingy. Add the navigation system which gives you the sunroof and other things. You can always buy the nav on ebay if you want to save money without adding the sunroof to the price, but it requires removing the old radio and might or might not be plug and play or you might not have full functionality of the nav system. It's not as nice as the Audi nav, but it's better than using a map or asking someone for directions.
Toyota: Which Vehicle should I get in 2 years (or any other durable brand)?
Last note. ONLY use 5w40 synthetic oil that meets VW 502.00 specs with these engines. Do NOT let the dealer use their oil since it is inferior and they failed and probably still fail to follow VW/Audi guidelines for oil changes, which led to the oil sludge problem with 1.8T engines. Time will tell if the 2.0T will suffer from the same problem. Oils that you can use are ELF, Motul, Pentosynth, and Mobil 1 0w40. The ECS link has pentosynth. You will most likely only be able to find those German blends online.
well i have a vr6 jetta and it has really good pick up and just installed y sports clutch and is even faster i would say vr6 all the way
Do I need to do anything with the computer after replacing the Trans?
Sorry but a STOCK 2.8 will whoop a STOCK 1.8t. If you're looking to mod, go with a the turbo. Many mods such as bigger turbos.Anyone familiar with the T.S.B. regarding the '03 Neon.?
The 1.8t is easy to mod and there are a ton of parts. The 2.0t is new but there are parts out for it but they are very expensive. There is only so much you can do to the VR6 without going with a turbo kit on it. MY CHOICE: The 1.8t. Easy to find parts, easy to find cars with this engine, and decent gains with standard upgrades (chip/turbo back/intake).I want to know if acura rl 2004 has blue tooth in it?
you are kind of asking something of a conundrum (ohh, good word!)...it's very difficult to get good gas milage and lots of power. you sort of need to choose one or ther other.Location of the master celenoid of a pontiac fiero?
i have a 2.8l 24v VR6 Jetta (GLi) and get a fairly consistant 26 mpg on 91 octane. i was getting 32-36 mpg on freeway driving with 94+ while driving around the US last summer (mostly long flat freeway stretches). i have done some of the more mild mods to my car (lightweight flywheel, stronger clutch, limited slip diff, coil over suspension...) but when i get the turbo, i know my gas milage will be shot. my plans are mild though, i just want to have 300 horsepower at the wheels, nothing crazy because i still want it to be my daily driver.
the 1.8t and 2.0t have great tuning possibility, but lack one thing: displacement! and as they say, there is no replacement for displacement! a 1.8l 4 cylinder turbo will never be as powerfull as a 2.8l VR6 with a turbo of the same size and trim. of course it will cost you 3x as much to mod the VR6 as the 1.8t...but that's just the way it goes.
1994 gmc 2500 5.7liter keeps cutting off?
if you are not considering modifications to your car, and are looking for stock power from a Jetta, your best bet is probably the 2.0l turbo GLi. i'm not very big on the new look of the Jetta (i have been a big fan of Jettas up until 05...have 91, 96 and 03 Jettas), but the new GLi looks great. the farenheit edition is really nice...that color is cool and it's already rare! http://www.vw.com/models_overview/specia...
What can I do to pop the hood of a 92 cav when my hood release button is broken off?
i'd say if you want a real monster of a VW, think about an R32 with a turbo kit. eip tuning ( http://www.eiptuning.com/eip/r32_turbo_s... )makes a good kit. HPA also makes a kit, but price and design wise, it's in a world of it's own ( http://hpamotorsports.com/product_turbo_... )
