There shouldn't be too much "dead space" between when you press down the throttle and when you see the rpms increasing on your tachometer. The G35 is designed to be a sporty sedan and throttle response is supposed to be very good.I read through a review on New Car Test Drive for the 2007 G35 and didn't see any negative comments on a soft gas pedal. But I guess the G35x has a snow function that "tempers" throttle response. Perhaps this function is accidentally turned on?
If not, I would say the best way to figure if something is wrong with your car is to just watch your tachometer when you first hit the pedal. If you touch the pedal and the engine revs and the needle moves, then nothing is wrong with your car. It could just be that the G35 doesn't "accelerate" as fast as you're normally used to due to weight or design.
