The idle speed is no longer adjustable on newer cars.
a 86 might be but I don't think so.
it is easier and cheaper at todays rates to swap the carb
than dissasemble it, and clean it, and put it back together, and put it back on the car.

I have a VW 2000 bug and have had it for a yr and have had so many problems out of it.?

And there isn't anything wrong with putting premium gas in it, but it doesn't need it so why pay for the higher octane gas?

A 20+ year old Honda would certainly need a new carb. Put some dry gas in it and if it is still not right, take it back to the mechanic that sold you the new carb. Mech. means car does not need premium; he's right.
