Jeep Speedometer and Gas Gauge Problems?

Question:
My 93 Jeep Cherokee has numerous problems. The speedometer is very sparatic. It will jump up and down within a 15 mph range, but recently it has been mainly on zero only jumping up every once in a while. Also when I fill my tank with gas the gauge only rises to 1/4 full. Any ideas on how to fix either of these problems? Or is there anything that i can check which might be causing the problem.

i would check the speedometer connection at the transmission...the gear that drives the sender if offset and may need replacing or to be realligned.

it sounds like your gas sender may be bad. Check at the rear of vehicle for a signal.
