SRS does stand for Supplemental Restraint System. IE: The air-bags.Ford or CHEVROLET which do u prefer?
The light is on because there's a problem with the air-bag system.
When there is a problem with the SRS that turns the light on, it renders the SRS system inoperative by default as a safety feature so the problem area doesn't deploy the bags when there not supposed too.
