Wheel offset depends on the width of the wheels. A 528i may have 16 x 7, 17 x 7, 17 x 8 wheels or other optional sizes. The wheel offset is measured (with the wheel off the car) from the bolt hole flange surface to a perpendicular line that connects the bead shoulders with a wheel diameter measuring stick. BMW wheels are not likely to fit any other make of car because of this wheel offset design.
