And for a heads up...no such thing as a "BIG BLOCK" when it comes to Pontiac engines. They have 3" & 3.25" journals and all stock connecting rods are 6.625" in length.

front drivers side. and no there are no small block or big block pontiacs. if you are doing a cam swap be careful. you dont have a small block chevy. the timing marks on the cam and crank need to be straight up. if you would rather set it up so that the crank mark is at 12 o clock and the cam at 6 o clock, set number 6 at top dead center. i ran into this problem when i did a cam swap on my 67 lemans.how do i get a replacement key for my 98 honda civic?

look at the firing order and follow #1 wire to #1 cylnderFirst of all; there is NO SUCH THING AS A BIG BLOCK PONTIAC. Every Pontiac from the 326-455 has the same external dimensions. The 301 dosent count!
The #1 piston on a '68 400 is on the drivers side of the engine in the very front.
