ive got a turbo 400, with 4 bbl carb. I know how to hook it up to the linkage, but down on the tranny does the whole thing have to be apart to put one in?

How do I fix my 2001 Explorer Sport rear wiper?
T-400 use a switch - not a cable. There is a solenoid in the valve body - not a cable like the T-350. The connection is on the driver's side of the transmission. There is only 1 wire to it (It should be live when kicked down to enerize the solenoid).I recently swapped a T400 for a T350 in a 73 pontiac - get a service manual (Clymer will do) and check out how it is wired. I used a harness from a pontiac with the 400 and a pedal assembly with the switch. Works fine.. They can also be mounted at the carb..
Good luck - also try the aftermarket trans suppliers (B&M, transgo, etc) for a kit.

no it doesn't you have to make sure the carb has the kickdown linkkage if it doesn't you probably get one from dealer,it should have a way of clamping down the cable usually right under the throttle linkageI've lost my manual can't figure out how to open the hood of my 06 dodge charger. someone help me.?
Th400 are vacuum operated there is no mechanical kick downI brought a1992 300e gas engine, anything i should look out for?IT HAS 168,000 MILES ON IT?
take it to any transmission shop, they will hook you upThinking of changing my exhaust?
the 400 doesn't have a cable...it's a switch controlled by a switch on the throttle with a wire running to the side of the transMore Questions & Answers ...
