Each lift kit company has their own standards concerning the actual amount the product will raise the vehicle. Meaning, they say it is a 3" lift and you may really get 2.5" of lift from it. There are many factors to look at. If you have a heavy aftermarket bumper on the rear and a full-sized matching spare you are effectively smashing the rear suspension and not getting the 3" claimed by the manufacturer.Heated mirrors on a 2003 Ford Taurus. Having said all that, I would recommend as the easy way out, call the lift manufacturer and tell them about your Jeep and what you have done to it or plan on doing. They can make shock recommendations from that....

The other more ACCURATE way is to actually cycle your suspension with full axle droop (flex) and axle compression (fender-well stuffing) WITHOUT the shocks on. Take measurements from eye to eye of the shock mounts on the frame and axle. These numbers will let you know what your shocks need to be lengthwise when extended and compressed. Give these numbers to Customer Service guys at your favorite shock absorber company and let them find the model for your particular application. All Jeeps are different, there is no SET length of shock....best to measure it and know you got the right ones that suit your Cherokee's characteristics best. Jeep on!
