Thinking about getting a dash kit for my car but wondering how well they hold up over time, if the adhesive peels off on the edges over time and how well they do as far as cleaning goes. Thanks :)

I'm assuming that you're not looking at a decal kit, and are asking about the adhesive that actually holds the plastic or carbon fiber dash kit in place.If the dash is cleaned well prior to putting them in place, it will stay in place for a very long time. Just make sure there's no oil, dust, or anything like that where the adhesive will stick. Use rubbing alcohol or something to clean it very well.

If you are looking at just a decal kit, expect about 2-4 years before it starts peeling.
Usually dash kits are made from molded plastic/carbon fiber/etc. and not from tape/mactac type adhesives. If it is an adhesive you are looking at, I would stay away from it because it will definitely peel or curl over time.

Hey, I have had mine on for 5 years now, and still looks good. Its best when installing to use some scotch brite pads to rough up the dash just a little. Keep it cleaned with some armour all, this will help keep it from drying out and peeling as well. Good Luck!More Questions & Answers ...
