How do I eliminate the door open warning buzzer on my 2006 Mercedes?

I have a 2006 Mercedes CLS 55 AMG with the most annoying buzzer that activates every time I open the car door. There must be some way to eliminate the buzzer or at minimum tone down the 80+ Db intermittent shrieking sound it makes.

Why should older 4x4s be called gas guzzlers, most are diesel & not as polluting as a ford mondeo?

Duct Tape over the door switch works for me. I like to open the doors and blast the radio on a picnic.

your going to have to gain acess to an SDS, which is a benz specific computer (all dealers have them) you can go in from there into your coding string and reduce the sound, i think legally it has to make a noise but you should be able to reduce the noise greatly. my advice take it to your local dealer (providing you like your local dealer) and have them do it next time your in for service.
