last week i had the issue with my jeep and a fan still going after i shut the jeep off, well it drained the battery. I took the battery and had it recharged because it was only two months old. Well now it sounds like it wants to start but it won't turn over. I need help because I'm clueless. The fan is not running anymore. It is a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee

How can it sound like it wants to start without turning over?If it doesnt turn over, you either have a bad battery, or the starter solenoid is bad.
Put the key in the on position and turn everything off. Look down on the left side of the engine and youll see a big electric motor bolted to it. Take a screwdriver and cross the top and bottom connectors on the left side, stay away from the one on the right side(it will be hard to reach anyway, but dont cross it).
If it sparks but doesnt turn over, then you just crossed the wrong one. If you get the right one, it will spark a little and turn over.
If it doesnt turn over, you have a bad battery. if it does turn over, you need a new solenoid.

Sometimes when a battery gets drained too much then it won't hold a charge anymore..check the battery to see if it's charged ..sounds to me like you have a ground problem with your jeep..and you really should bring it in and have it put on a a dino to check for problems..and once you get your jeep and running .SELL IT..everyone i know that has bought a jeep since chrysler took them over has had nothing but problems with them..transmission,transfercas... the list goes on and on..jeeps are junk they used to be really good reliable vehicles..if you are dead set on getting a good import vehicle get a VW.a bit more expensive but you'll never be left on the side of the road..Where can i buy a lift kit for a 93 chevy astro van?
That's a bummer.If the battery was totaly and completely DEAD, it needs to be charged for a long, long, ..long time. At least overnight at low amperage. 10 amps or so.
If you had your battery fast charged, it will not hold voltage for very long.

You may simply want tot take the battery back to where you bought it and tell them it won't hold a charge and you want another one.
Or, have it "trickle charged". That just means charged very slowly for a long time.

It sounds to me like you need to change your rear turn signal bulbs.That should fix the problem.If you have a clicking or it turns a few times and then stops, is usually because the terminal connections are corroded or not connecting properly. It's one of the easiest fixes and costs nothing! Just remove both terminal connections and clean both the terminal and the clamps. Reconnect and make sure they are tight, and you "Should" be running.

I've had similar problems. I, too, have a 99 Jeep, but its a Cherokee Sport. The wanting to start and not turning over has happened for a while, especially when the car is sitting on its own for a while. If it does start, does it immediately turn back off if you take your foot off the gas?And as far as the fan still going: I have the same problem but with a light that wont turn off (the one that automatically turns on/off when you open doors). Same thing- totally drained the battery. Anyone think the problems are related?

Take some good advice and do like I should have done sooner than I did, get to a dealer and trade it in quickly..Once things started going wrong with mine it was just something constantly...Mine was a 99 also...Hope you have an extended warranty on it if you plan on keeping it or that thing will cost you out the YAZOOOOO.GOOD LUCK!!More Questions & Answers ...
