Question:
Looking to install new shocks on my Jeep GC Ltd and was wondering if the Monroe Reflex shocks are a good option?
Answers:
Why? Is there somthing wrong with the old ones? I ask because I see to many people replacing thing cause monroe or midas says due to milage go factory might be a bit higher in cost but worth the money
What type of engine does a gt40 have?
There are a lot of good shocks out there. Rancho and Bilstein at two very good shocks. The Rancho will be have a stiffer ride than the Monroe but they will last and will take anything you can dish out.Monroe makes a very good shock for the money. Check out Gabriel also. I will never install another Rancho shock, they have a stiff ride compared to others and I have found that they break where the bushing end is welded to the rod. Not very happy with them. Bilstein makes a very good shock also. Like it has been said by others, no reason to replace a perfectly good shock, check out full suspension to make sure no other problems.
There are really only a couple of shock manufacturers that supply the majority of the USA market. Most of the brand shocks like Rancho, etc. you buy are just re-labeled from these two companies. Monroe is one of these manufacturers. They make a good shock and are a good option.
Why pay for the name sticker on the shock?
