LOW SULFER DIESEL!! How do I protect my cummins from this?

I have a 2004 dodge cummins. what is the best additve, if any, to add lubricity to my engine? Is home heater oil good for the motor?

You don't have to worry--but if you do still worry; there are a few companies that stand behind their products (mainly because they build fuel pumps). Stanadyne and Fleet Guard (a Cummins owned company). Home heating oil is too impure and will plug up your fuel lifter are worse if it gets beyond the filter.

i hate to burst you bubble but thet truck has never seen original diesel. low sulphur diesel has been out for a long time. the newest thing on the market is ultra low sulphur. as far as protecting you engine goes it wont really know the difference, however your fuel system may. when diesel first switched to low sulphur it started to cause major fuel leaks. this happened because sulphur is used as a lubricant in the fuel and the lack there of cause the seals in the fuel system to dry out and shrink. With this new fuel it may happen again, although they claim it wont. how ever if you still feel the need to use an additive i would stay with stanadyne. marvel is ok but its not as good as stanadyne.
