Can I install a double-din VW stereo in my 2001.5 VW Passat that came with a single-din?
If you are getting EGR codes, it's most likely the DPFE sensor that has failed. EGR valves rarely fail. But DPFE sensors fail all the time on Ford products, often leading to misdiagnosed EGR valves being replaced by those unfamiliar with Ford products.Anyone have any problems with their F350, 1997?
If the egr valve didn't open, then the engine would run really badly or stop. It will stick if carbon builds up in the valve so the cause will be the fuel burn or gases escaping past the piston rings. A proper diagnostic check will prove whether the valve is at fault. Good luck !What is the brand of that new van out that is a motor home?
The code for egr not opening can be caused by two things usually other than the EGR. and both are common...The DPFE as Rakel said is reguarly known for going bad causing this code... there is actually bulletins out about this particular one on this car if I remember.
I've also seen the tube going from the exhaust manifold to the egr break and not allow enough exhaust gases to flow causing this code too.. vehicle will make a noise at idle usually with this sounding like a leaking exhaust.
Can someone explain the pros and cons of using springs vs. coilovers ?
The EGR isn't the problem... I'd go with the fuel pump... and if you didn;t get it replaced at a Ford dealer or with a Ford pump, the problem will never go away... Ford actually redesigned the pump in this model and unless you cut a piece in the tank, a new ford pump will NEVER work.. and I've replaced many that other shops put (name of aftermarket auto parts store here) pumps in (some numerous times) but will always come back as the pump isn't the problem but the acutal suction line to the pump is the problem (and the reason for the redesign)
