Yes, firing order is the same chevy or pontiac. However, 350/400/455 Pontiac engines are not like chevys, and the distributor turns counter-clockwise. Most distributors (chevy, ford, etc) turn clockwise. Pontiac turns counter clockwise.

You'll have to find TDC on the number 1 plug. Pull both valvecovers. When both valvesprings are closed on #1, and the timing marks line up, thats #1 firing position. Turn up distributor to line up the cap and rotor, and the number one plug wire goes there. Then string the firing order CCW from there.
