Question:
I have an 01 silverado with a flowmaster exhaust. The exhaust sounds real good, but people keep telling me its not the best for horsepower. Some people have mentioned Magnaflow and Borla to me, but I would like to know witch one is best for my truck.

If you're not running headers, then your muffler really doesn't matter when it comes to horsepower. A lot of people like magnaflow and borla, but the hp gain over a set of good ol' flows is minimal at best, it's more personal preference than anything. If you still have catalytic converters, your choice of muffler is even less important. If all you want is a good, deep sound i'd stick with the flows (40 series, of course!), if you want any serious hp gains you need to put on a good set of headers (I reccomend pacesetter long tubes) and either remove or replace the catalytic converters with high flow units, then you can get choosy with a muffler.

Maybe the muffler companies publish backpressure and flow volume specifications so you can pick the one that flows the best. But they're all probably about the same anyways. I've also heard that your computer control is designed for a given back pressure from the exhaust system and that it could affect your engine operation if your back pressure's too high or too low.How do I remove the trim ring around the radio and climate controls on a 2002 Dodge 1500 truck?
I think you might be able to squeeze out an extra horse power or two with one of the others. It depends on weather you want to open your wallet again to get that little extra. Yours probably does just fine and still sounds bad a**.what year did they stop makeing cutless 442?
BORLA, FLOWMASTERmagnaflow dual inlet single muffler with 2 1/4 tubing would be the best
