your firing order will be on one of the intake runners founderd right into the part your #1 cykinder will be on the cylinder bank that is the furthest forward also you need to confirm the direction of rotation for the distributor if it is in front it will rotate counter clockwise however if you are getting no fire all of this means squat check all of your conections youneed to know if you have the stock ignition in whitch case pionts and condensors need replaced but it could be that some one has installed HEI if you could get this info and repost I may be able to help more but right now you havent given enough info repost after you have this stuffstart with #1 on DRIVER'S side FRONT (not right side) people get confused.

Head lights dimming in a 2000 suzuki vitara?
you will need fuel and fire. If the firing order is correct, you can double check with timing light. Light should blink when #1 plug fires. Point light at timing marks, it should blink about 10* before top dead center. Its common to get the firing order right, but the timing wrong. Engine needs correct firing order, and correct timing to run.
My 2002 Ford Mustang's "Check Engine" light just came on.?
Once you verify igntion system, check fuel.
The light just went on in my head. Check to make sure you have power to distributor in key "start" position. If you don't have starter wired correctly, you won't have power to coil when key is in "start" position. You'll have power in "run" but not "start" to coil. The ign key cuts power to the normal coil wire in "start". Then the starter "S" terminal feeds power to the coil during cranking. Very common problem when putting a pontiac together.

15 is too young 36 is too old and 24 is just right 1,5,3,6,2,4 but thats for a 6 cylinder. When number 1 is fixing to power stoke number 5 is fixing to intake. If your use the same principles with the 8 cylinder you will find your ignition pattern.what do the numbers in BMW car models mean?

what repairs have you done?.......first of all.....check for spark from the distributor......make sure #1spark plug wire lines up to #1 tower at the distributor while engine is at top dead center timing mark at o degrees...remove drivers side valve cover&spark plug....be sure both valves are closed & piston is up......then be sure of distributor rotation....arrange wires accordingly[18436572] ....then be sure your getting fuel...........now loosen dist.hold down clamp .......rotate the dist. while cranking engine.....watch out for back fire at the carbureator......if this does not help........secure the help of a certified tech.More Questions & Answers ...
