with a ball peen hammer.
This is the quickest, easiest fix to this problem - To disable the daytime running lights on almost any vehicle, the standard way would be to remove the fuse for the lights. You do this by opening either the hood or a panel just in front of either front door on the inside of the front fender, underneath the dashboard. The panel should have a map of the fuses printed on the inside of the panel. Locate the daytime running lights fuse, and remove it. Then, try the lights. Another way is, if you find it easier, is to remove the bulbs themselves.
Will A grand-prix super charger fit on a v6 camaro they both have the 3.8 3800 engine?
Note 1 - The only problem you may have is if the daytime running lights use the same bulb as the headlights. Then, this method would disable the headlights as well until the fuse was returned to its original spot. Even if this isn't the case, once the fuse is removed, the running lights won't work anyway.
does buick century 1997 have a cd player?
Here's the harder way - If you want to disable the running lights, but still need access to them at the push of a button, then you need to find and remove the wire that tells the lights when to turn on, generally once the car has started. The first place to look would be in the ignition system. If the lights come on once the car has been put into gear, then look in the transmission selector or, if you have a manual transmission, in the cluch or shift lever.
Note 3 - In most states it is illegal to disable any safety systems on any automobile, including daytime running lights. Therefore, you can't have this done at any legal mechanic shop; you have to do it yourself.

Please don't. Although not mandatory in the United States as they are in Canada, they do make your driving much safer. Safety was the reason they came up with them in the first place you know. So much so that many places offer add on DRL's for those cars not so equipped. The purpose of running lights is to be visible by other traffic. Especially beneficial to cars that are light blue, grey, silver, and brown. The other driver doesn't notice the car that easily on a grey day and he is tired(and drives a mother of a truck). You dead boy.
