I would really consider what you plan on doing with it. If you plan on ever leaving pavement, the choice is easy. We went with the LR3 because it gracefully rides as smooth as glass on the road (air suspension), but can pretty much out perform any stock vehicle off road. The only real complaint we have is that the tire selection is very slim, and they wear out at about 20K. This is apparently also the case with the Volvo. I would buy another LR3 again in an instant, though, and just plain enjoy getting into it and driving it in the morning.

Rule out the Land Rover 1st- too many problems! If you go with the GMC, which is a good looking SUV, get a long warranty. I would recommend the Volvo. It's solid and tuff.

These that you are settling on are not good quality and poor reliability. Basically you are deciding between a Ford, Ford and GM. Try a Subaru Tribeca, Mercedes Benz ML350 or a Toyota Highlander or Lexus.
