Question:
If you put it in a 300zx would it be faster than a 300zx V-6 Twin turbo, or would it be close to the same horse power.
Answers:
As big of a fan of the LS series of engines as I am, I would still suggest that the stock motor be kept. Nissan has always made great motors with a ton of potential. I've seen these motors tuned to 800 hp with no major complications.
For the price that it would take to purchase and custom fit and LS2 along with a T56 transmission you could not only tune the VG30DETT to 500hp, you could also rework the suspension as well as the transmission to handle all that power.
As far as a hypothetical battle between the two, it kind of depends which motor is being used. If the car had a C6, C5 or even a LT4 C4 Corvette motor and transmission, I don't see any reason why it would not beat a stock TT 300ZX. The American motors weigh more, but not so much more that it would greatly hinder performance. However if you were to use the LT1 motor it might be a different story. At it's best it had the same horsepower and a bit more torque (340p/ft). In this case the added weight might be too much.
Are PT cruisers reliable cars? I wouldnt be able to get a new one..maybe an 01-03?
What year are you talking? There's a wide variety of engines and HP. The 300ZX TT was only 300HP factory. The newer 'Vette engines are quite a bit more. I would like to see a 7.0 liter 'Vette engine in a 'Z1989 Lincoln Mark VII Question?
