You would have to leave your car in neutral when you park it to use an automatic car starter. Unless you leave it parked on a hill the emergency brake shoule be sufficient.

It's my understanding that remote starters are not suggested for manual cars...only automatics.

For a 68 mustang, what offset does the rims need to be for a wide tire without rubbing, with a 15x8" rim? :)

You should never put an auto starter on any manual car...

2001 dodge intrepid and my oil light comes on when pressing the brake what does this mean ?

Should you forget to take it out of gear, for example, it would move when you tried to start it, and, if it would ever actually start in gear, well, then you'd have a runaway car, which would be a nightmare.

So, as far as I know, automatic starters in manual cars are illegal in most states.

The clutch must be depressed for the starter to turn. You need an automatic.

Are fuel comsumption figures for new Honda 2.2 ctdi accord near quoted figures?

As others have noted the main reason it's a bad idea is that you might forget to leave the car in neutral but if your car has a neutral safety switch (like mine does) it's not a problem. If I leave the car in any gear it won't start.

I have a '97 dodge Intrepid and it has started running hot.?

Just don't leave the car in gear, and you will have no problems. If the clutch needs to be depressed to start, that can easily be bypassed. I'm sure you can find someone to install it for you even if it is "not recommended" (or install it yourself...no fun)

my 1996 vw polo starts and then cuts out?

Bad idea because it's a manual transmission. Also all the people I know with Jettas have a lot of problems with electrical stuff on their cars or other things breaking down. You're better off waiting until you have a new car with automatic transmission.

can anyone tell me what is the fuel efficiency a skoda octavia 1.9 TDI gets?

Because it is a manual car. Yes you could use the parking brake. But not a good idea if you park on a hill. Also what if you forget one noght and put it in gear? Start it up and crash. But then again some cars do have a sensor so you have to engage the clutch. So you may not even be able to start it.
All in all just not a good idea.

what is the name of the computer that you hook up to your car and it tells you whats worng with it?

a remote starter on any vw is a bad idea from my experience. i work at a vw dealer and when ever anyone has a remote starter installed it usually ends up screwing up something else electrical on the car. also most places will not install a remote starter on a manual tranny car due to safety reasons.
