Question:
Does anyone know of anything else to check on the remote opener for a Chevy Blazer besides the battery?? I have resoldered the battery holder as 2 leads were broken but it still doesn't work. I work with circuit boards but not remote openers so if anyone has an idea what else could be wrong Plz answer. One lead(leg) of the battery holder is broken an in the lead hole so wonder if adding a jumper wire might solve the problem? It is not mine it's for a relative 300 miles away so not real handy to check for fuses if this could be something else to check?? Is there something special to reset once you take the battery out??
Thanks

The 2 leads breaking away from the PC board have been the most common problem, after bad battery of course. They are tricky to resolder too as you need to clean & tin the leads up good. You could use a small wire in place of the broken leg. You can give the pc board a good wipe too under the buttons themselves as they tend to build up with dirt. I do think all of your troubles are with the battery holder. Make sure your battery is not in upside down. If you're close to a GM dealer they have a great tester for these remotes.Good Luck!
You dont mention if you checked to see if the battery itself was good
Why do some people prefer Fords or Chevys?
You will need to have the Key Fob reprogrammed, so the RCDLR will recognize it again.First double check the battery to make sure it is good. Then your next check would be the infarred pick on the unit itself.
