i own a repair shop,and both of those are good cars in general,either one is going to have problems sooner or later but car for car either one is going to make you a good car as long as you take care of it,don't buy a real high mileage one though,like say around 150 thousand because they do give problems at that mileage but other than that both of those are good cars,hope this helps.

focus - good handling, reliable overall nice car to drive
Clio - nice & small, but if you dont maintain that bonnet, will probably kill you
