Does anyone think Ford Motor Co. can make a comeback?
While technically, its a DOHC since it has 2 cams, its really a SOHC setup. There is only 1 cam per head, and that single cam operates both sets of valves. If it were a quad cam, then on each side there would be a separate cam for intake and one for exhaust valves. Each side of the engine would be considered DOHC then. In every true DOHC configuration, its one cam for intake, one for exhaust, which is not the case on your motor.98 Ford F150 - Will bench seat use the same mounting holes as bucket seats?

A V6 engine is always DOHC, since you have two rows of cylinders. Except for the VW VR6 engine, which was a close V architecture allowing to use a single overhead camshaft.More Questions & Answers ...
