i'm only geting 165 miles per tank of gas ,when i gat it the sticker said 18-23 mpg ave-per-year said $1,237 of gas o it's 4cyl

Are you filling up at 1/2 a tank? Otherwise, make sure you're using 87 octane. If you're using the 85 octane using ethanol it may not bet getting the mileage you should. But most of the customers that I've spoken with with AWD RAV4's have been getting in the low 20's for gas mileage. If all else fails, it's under warranty, bring it into the shop and have them check it out. Maybe it's something as simple as having the parking brake engaged.

You have to add at least 20% to the figures the manufacturers quote you and more if you have a lead foot. Don't forget also that during the colder temperatures you burn a lot more fuel because of warm-up. Low tire pressure is also going to cause worst fuel consumption.
