Question:
I believe the rear wheel bearing(s) assembly on my 2wd sante fe are on the way out. How difficult is this job and what specialty tools are needed to perform this? From what I am getting from the dealer and parts stores it's sold as a unit, not individual wheel bearing and races like my other vehicles.
Thanks!!

Don't you feel bad driving big SUV/Hummer/pick ups truck ..?
they will not come as a assembly. they come as a individual bearing and you will need a press of some sort to get the bearing out and too put it back in.Does anyone know what kind of oil a 2000 VW bettel uses?
You can get bearings from dealer but they are difficult to put on. You have to take the axle out and then remove bearing. It takes a die grinder, a clam shell puller, and some way to press new bearing on. Wiyh all the right tools its a 2 hour job, but without the right tools its a 4 or 5 hour job per side.My transmission did not shift above 2nd so i change the transmission and did the same thing .?
It is a BEARING ASSEMBLY! Did you ask the dealer if there is any WARRANTY?? This should be your FIRST step!If you are mechanically inclined, do not attempt this without a Service Repair Manual. Things need to be torqued and you will need the specifications.
If you are not too sure about doing this... call around to the local repair shops and get prices. Ask them about warranty on the new parts and if the work includes alignment. Also ask how many of these bearings they have done.
