If the valve body is the better choice,is it an internal part?if so can it be installed by a shade tree?

Or do you recomend useing a professional to install a valve body?The aod trans pack kit said you didn't have to remove trans to install,so i guess it was all through the bottom of trans.looked like there was a gasket for that.

Sounds like you're doing a shift kit, and yes and avg guy can do it alone. It is messy, and you must follow the directions exactly. Placement of balls and order of gaskets is critical. Be very careful to keep any dirt out of the assembly, if you're doing this outside, wait until there is little wind. And, you'll need a large drain pan.

the above average shade tree mechanic could do it.. but it requires placement of balls that fall out (unless put up with vasceline ) and clean,clean,clean. basically a garage or inside a shop... nothing to do outside as dirt is a auto tranmssions worst enemy (and the reason why we spend $50 on special towels to when working inside a transmission for)

I recommend a professional that way if something goes wrong, it's a headache for the professional who will know what went wrong way before you could figure it out (I recommend a transmission shop for this as they know how a transmission functions)
