The three-inch exhaust size is fine for your truck. I assume the pipe that was installed is from the Cat converter on back. The truck running poorly is most likely due to the same problem that is triggering the check engine light. If you’ve altered the cat or removed it, this will certainly trigger the check engine light. Also, check your O2 sensors and make sure they are installed properly, they are not burnt and the wires have not been damaged or melted by the exhaust. How to drain Power Steering Pump...?
If none of the above issues are present, it’s possible (although not all that common) that the computer in the truck needs to adjust. Disconnect the negative battery cable for about a minute. Then reconnect and give the truck a few miles of driving to readjust. This may also clear the check engine light of no other problems are present.

some serious mini- sewer going back... but I don't know exactly the exhaust setup under the truck so I can't help you.. the check engine may be related to the exhaust (possible issues with the cataylist o2 sensors that he would have had to possibly modify to put in the exhaust...)I'm thinking about getting a 2007 Hyundai Elantra SE..is it a good car-overall?
the vibration may be from how he installed it as Ford has theres on rubber mounts whereas most aftermarkets are welded up to the frame with a small strap sometimes (I've seen some that did it with nothing to insulate the vibrations)
Anybody had any problems with the new style Renault Clio's?
bring up the issues to the exhaust guy for answers.
