How can i tell the difference between ford motors?
i agree,we have a pajero diesel and it does 35 to the gallon, the same as my little skoda felicia!!The idea is that they are carrying around much more weight than they need to. This is why they are referred to as guzzlers. It also helps the media (newspapers). They like a term like "Gas Guzzler" whether it is in fact true or not.

Most all 4X4's are gas hogs , new and old. Small 4 cylinder cars such as Subaru and Suzuki manage 20mpg.Do you think Crysler PT Cruisers are cool?
i am sure you are referring to the new tax disk that will come into effect from next year. the good thing is if you have a car that was registered before June 2006 you will not have to pay the exorbitant tax they are making you pay. also cars are now tax according to the amount of c02 they pump out (when you take your car for an mot you will find this out). How many o2 sensors does my 95 mustang gt have? it has the 5.0?

I HAVE GOT A 1993 DISCO WHICH RUNS ON BIO DIESEL SO MY GAS GUZZLER THROWS OUT LESS EMITIONS THAN THE CHIP SHOP4.7 '96 Ford Thunderbird 0-60 and ETs?
"Gas Guzzlers" is a throwback term from the gas crises in the 70's. At the time it generally referred to any vehicle that got only single digit gas milages or low 10's. This meant a few 4 cylinders, most 6 cylinders and all 8 cylinders feel into this classification. The main reason for the lousy milage is because the induction type of 90% of vehicles in the 70' was carburation. What does the new 2009 F150 look like.?
Now things are different. Every single new vehicle on the road today is fuel injected in some form or another. Also because of better manufacturing techniques and computer controls, the engines produce 2 or even 3 times more power than the of same size engines from the 70's.
How to switch the fuel pump relay located on a 1989 5.0 mustang?
So the question becomes 'Who defines what is a gas guzzler?' Do you define it by It's milage? Do you define it by the power the engine devlops versus the weight of the vehicle? Do you define it by the amount of power it put out versus the amount it actually uses? Do you define it by the amount of pollution it puts out?
How much is it for a new Nissan Skyline GT-R?
If you say it's milage, is a car with a 4L engine considered the same as a pickup with a 4L engine, or a city bus with a 4L engine (Fuel types not withstanding)? You can build a car that gets 100mpg but it does 0 to 60 in 45 seconds. The enviromentalist will automatically say they would buy it until they try it (try it in your car).
If you're trying to save the enviroment go after the ones who are belching out the toxic crud from the tail pipes. But leave the ones that are filling up with over 100L a week. Guys like that are good for the economy.
1987 chevy suburban not charging, new battery and alternator, not draining just not charging.?
Not all 4X4's ar gas guzzlers, nor would they be if the governement wouldn't call for all the smog equipment to be installed on every vehicle built. Which causes power loss, and restrictions to the engine causing it to work harder, thus using more fuel.As I understand it it is all large engined cars that are hit, not just the Chelsea tractors. Thus a small four wheel drive car will not be required to pay the £400. Its about time that these over-sized four wheel drives that are the size of a truck were taken off the road.
i've got a 1995 cherokee jeep 4.0ltr ltd fitted with LPG
