I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9L w/A4LD trans. My speedo reads inaccurately?

Question:
Needle movement is steady, but reads higher than actual mph. Past 65 mph the needle buries itself past 85 mph. Possibly related, both my RABS and Brake warning lights are on. Code 4 has been polled, with RABS valve switch closed. I have not checked the speed sensor on the rear diff. Are the speedo and the RABS speed sensor connected, seeing as how I believe my speedo is cable driven? Help!!

Answers:

What size engine came in a 1986 Mazda B2000 truck? I know its a 4cyl. but what Liter?

The speedometer is cable drive. The wires that come off the side of the trans where the cable goes in are for the cruise control. If the tires are stock diameter, did someone change rear axle with different gear ratio? or maybe someone put a different transmission and the speedo gears are a different ratio. If you remove the screw that holds that speed sensor in the trans you can pull it out. There is a small gear on it. Count the teeth. If you put in a gear with more teeth you'll get closer to the actual speed. If you know what speed it says when you are actually going sixty mile per hour you can figure it out pretty closely. Take the number of teeth X the speed your speedo said and divide by sixty. This will get you close.

If you have a speed sensor, the speedo would not be cable driven, but rather electronically driven.

Hmmmmm....

What does the TT stand for on the Audi TT?

First! Are the tires and wheels original equipment?
Changing tire diameter can cause you to chase your tail.
Speed sensors and Anti lock brake wheel sensors are two different things.
Are the lights and other gages working correctly? Everything could come down to something as stupid as poor battery connections or axillary grounds.
Wore case scenario, bad speed sensor - bad dash pod - bad buffer in dash pod.

what is the difference between a Nissan Patrol Sari and a Nissan Patrol Super Safari?

Change the speedometer gear at the speedometer cable with more teeth. I would guess and say about 4 teeth more than the orginal. More teeth the less it shows, less teeth the more it shows.
