my Mustang well not start up it trys and than turns off i was thinking it was the button in the trunk cuz one time this happened and i clicked the red botton in the trunk than it started working this time after being out of town and not driving my car for about 6 months i tryed starting it and and it only starts up whan i spray fuel in the intake or quick start but turns off as soon as i stop spraying im thinking its the fuel pump or something what the fuel dos any one know where the relay is cuz the fuel pump is $145 and if i change it and it ant that they said at AutoZone that they cant take it back cuz its a spacial order...Please Help! thanX

start with the easy thing first, it does sound like you are not getting fuel, so turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump if you hear in then the fuel pump and the relay are not the promble. if you do not strat by checking all the fuses then the relay. if it still does not work then take the fuel pump off and have it tested. I would almost bet money based on your question that it is a fuse or the relay.Do you like the New chevrolet Camaro?
You have a plethora of things that could cause these problems. Have an experienced mech. look it over or pay $50 and have em hook it up to a dyno or auto zone will hook up to the plug under your dash and read the codes. try hotwiring the pump, once it has 12 volts and starts ticking, your car should start

if you take the fuel pump off hook it up 2 a booster pack and put the suction screen in a bucket of water...it should shoot water out the other end if its good if not then you need to buy a new fuel pump.if you search on jc Whitney.com you can actually buy a kit to put in an electric fuel pump for under 100$.one more thing i work at pep boys and if a special order doesn't work we can return it...we just send it back to the vendorMore Questions & Answers ...
