I have a nissan 200sx and I bought an universal AEM short ram intake for it. The pipe is too long for the filter fo fit becasue my battery sits right there. I was wondering if I could cut like four inches off of the pipe? Would it hur the Performance of the intake? Or Would it have no affect on the intake?

Yes, you can cut it, it will have no effect on performance vs the original length.HOWEVER - Keep in mind that a short-ram is NOT going to free up any power, as it's sucking HOT underhood air. Believe it or not, the factory Nissan intake is pretty well-designed.
It's gonna sound louder, which will fool most into thinking they're picking up power, but it's a false sense of improvement.

The Short ram will give you a minute amount of top end H.P. But you will dramatically lose bottom end torque.

It will sound nice but a Cold Air Intake will sound good also, while actually giving you some H.P.
