Question:
It currently has 75K miles.
Answers:
If you take care of it the Manuals imply at least 200K
Well, if you want the literal answer, a car can last forever just about or until it gets totaled in an accident. Almost any problem a car has can be fixed, notice the collectors and antique car shows. So, there's really no defined time or mileage mark that a car will last. Some cars have more problems then others even though they are maintained and driven the same, you just never know.
If you can spend any amount, it will last forever.
This would depend upon several factors such as: scheduled maintenance, driving habits, driving conditions, where it's kept, timely repairs etc. It is a MACHINE. All machines require maintenance and occasional repairs, so I would suggest that you follow the manufacturers recommended maintenance schedule, make timely repairs, try to park it under cover (carport, garage etc... avoid parking under trees) and use OEM parts when possible. Also, do not change to aftermarket wheels as this could void remaining warranty on transmission. Additionally, there are warranties available that will cover your vehicle after the 90k engine & transmission original warranty.
a good japanese car with a good engine like the VQ should easily last you 150K. With good maintenance and what not you should break the 200s and if you are lucky 250. My dad's G an 03 5AT has 156K miles on it. They are mostly highway and he hasnt't had a single problem.
