Question:
Hey Yahoo, many think its my wire from the alternator to the starter wire that may be bad. I havent got the chance to change it but im gonna when its warm tommorow. my questions is where is a place I may be able to buy one just like it with fusible links in it? or can I upgrade it to a different wire without worrying about it causing a fire if anything went wrong? I've read 10 gauge would be fine with no fuses put inline, does that sound fine? any input is appreciated.

If there are no auto parts stores, then you call up the checy dealership and order one. If you are not sure, do to the body shop and get this done!
I had a 1985 Chevy K-10 and had a similar problem.
You may want to check the charging wire from the alternator to the starters hot wire, or where it goes through the shield tube near the exhaust manifold.
Other thing to check (under the dash) is the fuse. It's seems simple, but it's worth a check.

do what the other answer says, Ive done it before on a derby car, take at least 10 gauge wiring and run it from the post on the back of the altnator to postive battry post. all it does is eliminate running the juice thru the solenoid.More Questions & Answers ...
