I hope that someone out there may be able to help me with my problem. I have bought this car at 185,000 miles from a private owner. He told me upfront that there was a bad oil leak. The reasons he said was that it may need either a Valve Gasket or a Rear Main Seal. Well a month from buying the vehicle the car cut off. Before that happened, the battery light came on when I went to cut the car off and cut it back on it wouldn't come on and its been like that ever since. I thought it was my battery but Auto Zone said it was good. Then I replaced 4 of my 8 spark plugs and that isn't it. The starter turns but won't click to make the car run. Can anyone possibly tell me what it is I need to do possibly to get my car started again.

Sounds like your starter or your starter realy is shot. But stop nickeling and diming yourself and get your car to a mechanic. And install the other 4 plugs!

You have the 5.0 in there and they leak oil so what he told you is true the main seals the next year they came out with the 4.6 in the Town cars much better engine for high miles like that. Now the no start is probably a timing problem either the timing chain broke or jumped or a bad distributor and there is a electronic device that plugs into the distributor.
